It Was A Change At Least... - 9th May 1007

Training today was a breath of fresh air! Although, Sir Winston's arm might be bruised for quite a while.

Of course, after that I had the displeasure of once again entering the Council Chambers, once again we've only just finished up, although we had a break a few hours ago, where I had some...interesting encounters. Seems the Nexus was in fine form today.

It certainly proved more interesting than the meeting, where my advisors were mostly speaking because they've had experience with negoating with Caerleon whereas I haven't. But I'm sure my moment is coming soon and I'm not sure I'm ready for it, I'm not exactly that sort of person...

But I can say one thing, I won't be asking Monmouth for advice, I want to get some fresh air tomorrow!

I was just going over some treaties after the council meeting today when who should just show up, but that Gage fellow, the one who looks just like me. But with a different accent, and from the future.

I haven't seen him since I helped him and friend of his with something. The trouble hasn't come back which is good, because honestly? I don't think I could deal with anything else.

I went to see Father today, he's not any better, he doesn't talk, or look you in the eye or anything...I tried speaking to him normally - Gaius has mentioned that might bring him around, but nothing...

I wish...

No, I've got more important things to do than write on in here.

The Pagentry is at an End... - 31st July 1006

The competitors didn't stay for long, some of them have such a long trip home I suppose it isn't too surprising. The barman at the Rising Sun was standing in the doorway looking like he'd just been punched in the gut. He tried to convince a few of us to come in for a drink or two, something about it being the only thing that would keep him from poverty.

Needless to say we did not take him up on the offer, at least not right then, I think a few of the knights might still be down there.

I meanwhile returned to the castle to find myself face to face with Vivian!

At least that's what I thought for a minute or two (and believe me, it was horrifying), but no it was a future person...and a look-a-like. I pity the poor soul who ends up with Vivian, but someone must, if she has a decendant. She was a lot nicer than Vivian I'll say that much, centuries must have fixed some of the worst traits.

After that, I found myself stumbling into the Nexus again, where I met up with April who seemed upset. I think I might have cheered her up a bit at least.

So, council meetings start up again tomorrow, which means I have hours of boredom to look forward tomorrow.

Definitely no more pagentry.

Met that future person in the navy this morning. We had a most enlightening discussion.

But now...

I have no words. NO WORDS!

Hunting - 5th June 1006

Is always a welcome activity! Even though Merlin spent the whole day moaning. Honestly, he should be glad I didn't throw him in the stocks after his ridiculously poor effort at cleaning my room. Other people in this castle would have done far worse. I'm sure even Gaius would have made him clean a leech tank.

Anyway, take out Merlin's catwaulering and as I said, the day was amazing! I think we're in for a very warm summer.

On our return (with quite a haul of rabbits and a stag) however, I recieved a message from the council requesting me to look up some old records. Me! Sometimes I think these people have no idea who I am.

So yes, I went to see Monmouth and got the records and while I was going over them a gentleman clad in very strange clothes just wandered on in and commented about killing kings.

I really have no idea why anyone would say that, even idly! But seeing as it was a future!person. I suppose rules are different. Although he's not quite as far from the future as most of the people that place spits out.

It's extremely good luck that no-one ever happens to be around when this sort of thing happens, that's all I can say.

Exhausted... - 29th April 1006

not_a_clotpole: (Getting Very Sleeeeeepy)
Yes, an entire day dedicated to training the guards. I think I've made some progress, they were certainly doing better with full-armour exercises by the end of the day.

But I had quite a few...visitors...both from Camelot and elsewhere. Each of them seemed to agree that the guards aren't going to make it.

But I'm going to do it! I think there might even be one with talent...maybe I can make him the Head Guard, our current one Farrier is particularly useless if you ask me.

Right...I'm about to fall asleep, so I'll figure out what to do about the guards tomorrow.
not_a_clotpole: (My Thinking Face)
I've never prayed so hard in my life and it actually worked, it never has before... But I guess...

Well, Guinevere's safe! She's been released, I've held her in my arms and it's all because of some senile old man.

This day could have been less shocking, however...firstly, it finally happened, I ran into a Guinevere who looks like my Guinevere, but is not. Not one who doesn't look like her...or even one from the future like a Morgana I also ran into.

I finally found my Guinevere and well...the world was right again.

As for Father....I will never look at him the same way again, I can't imagine ever forgiving him for this. Ever.

But now I'm thinking about that senile old sorcerer...his execution is set for tomorrow, I really don't know if he even understands what's happening. Which is an uncomfortable feeling...which is why I've decided to go and see him. Even if he did knock me out and insult me.

If he is senile, he should hardly face execution should he? I have to know.

It's Back... - 4th February 1006

The snow...I can't believe it...I thought it was finally warming up! Unbelievable.

And of course, we couldn't train in weather like this, ridiculous...and the guards are beginning to backslide in to very bad habits. I found two of them asleep on the job this evening! If nothing else training keeps them awake...I'm not entirely sure why, it might be from the ringing in their ears from all the headblows.

I did stumble across what turned out to be a future!person shooting arrows at snowmen. However that was about the extent of interesting thing that happened today. I barely saw Guinevere at all and when I did she was busy rushing somewhere else and I happened to be in the company of my father or Morgana or Leon and I could hardly leave any of them and run after her.

Maybe with Morgana...but I really don't want to...not that I don't trust her, it's just...embarrassing. Not that Guinevere is an embarrassment, more that...I don't know...

This is hard to explain.

I don't know why people write...it really doesn't make things clearer...waste of time and ink really.

To Hell with this.
not_a_clotpole: (Merlin-Giving a Funny Face)
After dinner I was heading back to my chambers, when the multiverse decided to be clever and pluck me out of Camelot's itself and dump me in that room.

I arrived just in tme to hear a small girl talk about reciving repairs. I really have no idea what the future is like and conversations like that make me not want to know.

Also...I happened to overhear Merlin today saying some very inapprorpiate things about me. Really, I give him too much leeway in thse things.

Still, he always looks hilarious when he's trying to cover something up so I'll let him off, though really, I've seen him eat and he's really in no position to point fingers.

Honestly, how rude!

So Last Night... - 23rd January 1006

not_a_clotpole: (Yeah - no...)
I had a bit of an...experience.

I meet a girl who said she was my daughter. And I don't think she was lying...

She's from the future of course,...but is it MY future, I hope so...but I don't want to think about it too hard, because well, it feels like a dream and I feel like if I overthink it it'll disappear.

She said she had four older brothers, too...

No, I should go to bed, especially if Merlin's going to wake me up at a ridiculous hour again... honestly.
not_a_clotpole: (Yeah - no...)
The the Camelot guards I mean. I don't even know how they got hired. Obviously whoever was behind it didn't have a clue. Probably one of the older council members, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't know what a fight was if they were at a tournament! Pathetic.

I met a gentleman who claimed to be Eros, the Eros, the God of Desire. I don't really need help in that department...not a bad guy though...for a God I mean...

After that, I was going to track down Morgana so we could begin our search, but I got side tracked by that look-a-like of mine, Prince Edward. I don't think I can adequately describe how completely bizarre it is having someone who looks exactly like you, but they're you're complete opposite. Prince Edward doesn't even know how to weild a sword!
not_a_clotpole: (Of Camelot)
Pleasure follows pain! After the thoroughly unpleasant experience of yesterday today I got to spend some quality time with Guinevere. The Knights should be worried actually...she learns very fast and is...well...sort of distracting, being so graceful and all...Dangerous, if you ask me.

Also, Morgana and I are on mission...I've finally figured out where her mother was from (well, all right, she figured it out, but those are just the finer points) and now all we need to do is hunt through the huge amount of stuff in the Castle Attics, there has to be something there, a heirloom or some such. I'm just waiting for Merlin to get back to me with more information, because God knows I'm not talking to Monmouth, every time I'm within earshot of the man he wants to give me a lecture.

Another life lesson could be that boredom begats interesting events because aftter writing yesterday's diatribe about the offical paperwork pile I was visited by not only Guinevere, Morgana and Merlin, but a future!person. A small child who's idea of royalty was somewhat...well...we're not that bad surely! She also seems to be an orphan, but she disappeared before I could actually do anything. What I could actually do for a future person is a bit of a mystery to me.

But tomorrow's training calls, and I have special plan in mind for Merlin...
not_a_clotpole: (On Guard)
This multiverse thing has resulted in any number of bizarre encounters.

This evening's encounter requires him to accompany a small girl to the Forest of Balor just outside Camelot.

The sun had almost set by now and Arthur debated the wisdom of this.

The kid, Stephanie, was about to be deterred and no self-respecting person would allow a small child to wander into the forest unaccompanied, so here he was.

He could only hope that only deer and badger would be wandering around in the woods tonight.

What...I Don't Even... - 26th October 1005

not_a_clotpole: (Oh Shit...)
All right, it was weird enough running into that Mordred look alike (he really was the smugest little bastard - the look-alike I mean - not Mordred (I don't even know what he's like).), but at least I wasn't in Camelot at the time.

But today...today a look a like of my own father appeared on his throne! On his THRONE!

And I didn't even realise it wasn't him for a good five minutes - because well...even if he was dressed like a lunatic, one doesn't just sit on the King's Throne.

I swear this multiverse thing has got it out for me - it's trying to get me killed - how the Hell would I have explained that if my real father had walked in? The other one - a Mr. Giles I believe? - would have had his head off before he could blink!

And do you know what's REALLY bloody bizarre? Hearing what appears to be your father be all casual about magic and then ask for Merlin (Merlin?!).

Needless to say there was no hunting today - I had to get Mr. Giles back to where he came from... and thank God I did because I have no idea where I could have possibly hide him otherwise.

Honestly, I don't need this.

Stop it, multiverse.

It Wasn't Even Me... - 25th October 1005

not_a_clotpole: (WTF?)
Who did it this time - put Merlin in the stocks I mean...Honestly I'm beginning to think he likes it in there. It does guarantee a lot of attention...

But typical Merlin he wasn't even grateful that I stood next to him and prevented a whole bevy of tomatoes from smacking him in the face. People can be so rude.

I had a...strange experience on the way to training - just walking along normally and all of sudden it looksed like that little kid - whathisname? Mordred had just decided to wander into Camelot. But no...apparently it was just someone who looked like him, not a relative or an alternate or anything. I don't even understand...

And when the Nexus isn't dragging me into inappropriate places, people continue to show up in Camelot when they're not supposed to! Like this bizarre man.

I'm just waiting to hear what will happen when other people here end up seeing our new visitors. It won't be good let me assure you.
