And Merlin Wasn't Even There... 30th January 1008

At the tavern tonight, which is where I was with the knights.

This isn't something my father would ever have done, but Gwaine talked me into it, I hope I won't regret it, there was a very odd drink on offer tonight, it was green of all things. It proved to have an extremely odd taste, but well...it sort of grew on me.

Considering I can still write, I don't think I have to worry about any sort of hang over, honestly, if Merlin is going to assisting on going to the tavern he should at least learn to hold his alcohol. Not that I think he could ever manage it...a knight he is not.

And since the stables haven't been mucked out for quite a while, he better not be trying to work on his tolerance right now...or there'll be trouble.

I Don't Need This... - 3rd September 1007

So last night I had the most disturbing nightmare...it took me a while to realise that it was in fact a dream, though I would have thought that Father in a jester's hat and Guinevere planning to challenge me to a duel would have made it obvious.

But no, in fact, I didn't notice for what seemed like hours. So embarrassing.

It's not surprising I would dream of the tournament, it begins in just one week and I've hardly had any time to train. I have to get onto that first thing tomorrow, which means I should probably go to bed now.

I just pray I won't have to suffer through yet another dream...

Reports...A Necessary Evil - 24th July 1007

Yes... although I suppose if I ever have trouble sleeping there's a surefire cure for it.

Merlin came and woke me up, which was rather good of him. Although I thought I was ill...I can't keep up with him, I swear!

I had a very odd encounter with a Merlin today actually...earlier on. I saw A Merlin because I'm quite sure he wasn't my one. At first I just thought he was delirious. But apparently not.

It was somewhat unsettling...though nowhere near as bad as that evil Merlin...I'm never going to get over that one.

Anyway, the reports won't read themselves sadly, so I better get back to them, the delegation from Moira arrives tomorrow... I hope I can survive this. Moira and Camelot haven't had a meeting of this nature in years. I just pray they don't think just because Father is indisposed they can make unreasonable demands.

Highs and Lows... - 14th July 1007

It's been a day of both.

Firstly, the weather broke overnight so the knights were finally able to train. God forbid we end up getting rusty!

Nothing quite like a training session, or the Gwaine-encouraged sheninigans that followed, which mostly involved trying to throw each other in the river. I'm pretty sure I managed to win, of course.

Unfortunately, the fun couldn't last and I found myself sitting on another Council Meeting. The Councillers are getting restless about Father's condition. They grilled Gaius unmercifully, not that it's helped much. Father is the same, neither here nor there...

It was enough to make me talk to myself, or at least I thought I was alone. Typical of events these days, I wasn't. I suppose at a time like this I could use advice...from any quarter.

But it's beginning to look more and more likely that Father will remain in the fuge...and that offical steps will have to be taken.

And I don't want official steps to be taken...

I'm Not Sure I Can Sleep Tonight... - 13th July 1007

After last night's escapades.

Someone climbed through my window! And by someone, I mean me...another me that is.

It seems I can't escape these...events, I left the book alone and I ended up in some living nightmare! At least when I write in it the worst I seem to get is visitations by other mes, and Morganas from the past or the future.

I would like to know one thing, if this book would eign to tell me why it's trying to drive me insane.

Not that it'll work, of course.

.... - 8th July 1007

....

....

Am I back? I pray that I'm back. The castle looks like it should, my room looks like it should...

The view -

It's the same too!

And this stupid book is here too.

Thank GOD!!!!

I've just spent seven days in...I don't know where. The people said it was Camelot...it didn't look a thing like it! I didn't see a single familiar face.

The same couldn't be said for names. The king there claimed to be King Arthur! And his Queen...she was named Guinevere.

They were obviously imposters. And not very good ones if you ask me. It was almost insulting! Particularly the one who claimed to be Guinevere! She...I don't even know how to describe her! She was like Vivian!

And worst of all...

SINGING!

Everyone sang! At the strangest times! Just out on the street! At a tournament! Wherever! Obviously some sort of magic, it even affected me!

Unbelievably enough that wasn't even the worst part...I can't sing (although I don't think anyone noticed because they couldn't either!), but that was far better than having this... fake Guinevere try her wiles on me!

Actually, I think she tried her wiles on everyone! It was the most bizarre thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm not sure what the so-called Arthur was doing when all this was going on.

But yes, I had to explain my presence and clothing somehow so I claimed I was Sir William of Deira, which worked well enough. Anyway...I was minding my own business when this fake Guinevere skipped on up to me and asked me ever so casually to kill Lancelot!

Not in so many words, of course, but that was the suggestion! I hadn't noticed Lancelot was even there, but apparently so...he didn't look like himself either. All the same I wasn't about to kill him!

I kept trying to wake up, maybe I should have got myself killed... But that probably wouldn't have worked, I'm sure Lancelot would have just reserrected me.

I don't even...

I don't want to think about this anymore, now that everything's back to normal, I just want to go to training and forget about it.

And don't sorcerers have better things to do?

Guinevere is Unwell! - 13th June 1007

Which would explain why I've had so much trouble finding her these past few days, despite Merlin giving me her schedule (with Morgana...gone she doesn't really have an offical post in the castle, which makes it hard to know where she'll pop up next). Today I finally had success, I thought we could have some strawberries together - especially after what I went through to get hold of them.

However, I found her on the verge of collaspe! I hope it's nothing serious, she said it wasn't bad enough to get Gaius involved, but I'm not sure...I'm thinking of sending him a message to go and see her tomorrow morning.

Gaius has been coming to my rescue a lot lately, I certainly haven't had to put up with Monmouth so much. It's a wonder he hasn't recieved any honours...not that I can actually think of any appropriate to give him. And of course, in order to find out if there are ones I'd have to...

Ask Monmouth.

I think I'll avoid that for a while.

Tomorrow is intensive training with the knights! I'm looking forward to it - as I'm sure they are. I have a good feelin about this.

As lon as Guinevere gets well soon...

I Think I Prefer Hunting Game... - 12th June 1007

Today I went to hunt up cherries and strawberries (yes, yes, the kitchen maids could do it, but I was looking for an excuse to escape the castle). It proved to be more difficult than one would think.

I almost ended up in the river!

I also met Morgana...little Morgana. I wanted to say something anything to stop what happens, but I don't know...what could I say anyway? It probably wouldn't even work.

I think I saw Guinevere too...little Guinevere...

And that was as bizarre as can be imagined. She didn't know me at all! It took me quite a while to recognise her as well. I think I handled it rather well...

I would just like to say I managed to get quite a number of strawberries and cherries in the end, depsite everthing. A good knight always finds a way.

The Kitchens...- 11th June 1007

Are woefully understocked when it comes to fruit. Weran out of cherries and grapes a few nights ago and tonight we ran out of strawberries.

People may well say these are trifling concerns, but they're not to me! There shall have to be a hunt for food tomorrow. Just the sort of thing I'm good at.

Besides we could use something less than serious.

Yes, I'll definitely look forward to it.

Unexpected Ghosts... - 28th May 1007

I walked into the Main Hall a few hours ago, and there was a feast going on.

But it was a feast from years ago.

How did I know this? Because my my mother was there.

I'm not sure I loke having that happen... I mean, seeing Mother again...it's...well...difficult to describe.

I wish she was still here, Father wouldn't be the mess he is if she were. Morgana would probably be here too.

And these are the sorts of thoughts I hate thinking too much about.

Stupid multiverse.

Very, Very Strange Things... - 1st December 1006

Or thing, at least.

Today after I left Father I went to the Council Chambers to prepare for a meeting where I found...

Father.

But he really wasn't himself.

Obviously that multiverse thing was playing tricks, a rather cruel trick all things considered. It was another him...from another time. But he was only as tall as my dagger! He'd been shrunk!

The strangest thing of all was he was just like he used to be, before...all this happened.

In all honesty? I found myself wishing he was Father, my one I mean.

But no, he was still in his chambers, quiet and mute as ever.

I don't even want to write about anymore...

Curse the Name of Dragoon - 15th July 1006

At least I assume this is who is behind this.

I've still got the accent. In fact it might even be thicker! Pretty soon I won't be able to speak at all!

Thanks to the Guinevere I met the other day (the other one, not my one) I managed to get out of all the Council Meetings today by notifying my father of the necessity of going to check the border, with all the tournament competitiors coming and the Tournament being so distracting... Well, it'd be a rather good time for Cenred to make attacks.

As it turned out, he wasn't (frankly, I think he's rather an idiot), but it kept me from talking to anyone, except for Morgana. I've managed to avoid speaking to Merlin!

But I've also been bereft of Guinevere's (my Guinevere this time) company. This depresses me more than I can say. I'm sure even with this stupid accent she'd understand me, she always does!

I will seek her out tomorrow, accent or no accent..even though I'll need Merlin's help, of course, he better not go on about this. Otherwise...I might just enter him in the Tournament.

Speaking of which, it begins on Tuesday - which is Father's birthday in honour of the fact he's the previous champion.

So to bed, tomorrow will be filled with training! And Guinevere if I'm lucky.

Sword Fighting Rats? - 15th January 1006

No, being snowed in hasn't driven me completely insane - yet. I'm just talking about a strange person who the multiverse threw at me today.

Another prince, who claimed to have only been beaten in sword fighting by a rat. A non-magical giant rat that can wield a sword, I'm not seeing it. And frankly I hope I never wander into his world. Rats remind me of very, very disgusting stew...and Wildren.

Having said that though, having strangers just wander into the castle certainly beats staring out the window.

I may have to build more snowmen...the entire complement of Camelot's Knights should take me long enough. And maybe I can get Guinevere to help, I think we're safer in the freezing cold.

My New Horse... - 13th January 1006

Well after the horrors the multiverse has seen fit to visit upon me lately, I crossed my fingers that I would avoid such things and went to see my new horse.

I haven't given him a name yet, I'm still thinking...he needs something good, something that fits. He's not so skittish now that he's settled in, I think Camelot's taken a liking to him, which is always good since they're sharing the same stable.

Speaking of the horses...I'm a little worried about the complete lack of exercise they've been getting, the stable hands walk them around the courtyard every day of course, but that can't replace a run through the forest on a hunt or even jousting practice. If this weather doesn't change soon...well...I don't know. You can't change the weather can you?

Unfortunately...

Still...these things I've seen in the multiverse lately...I wish I could speak to someone about them, but I can't...except other people in the multiverse I suppose. Which might just make the whole thing moot.

Or maybe I should just write it all down...get it out...

But not tonight...

Just Walking Down the Corridors - 11th January 1006

Seems to be a bit of a dangerous thing these days... I was simply returning to my chambers afte a late meeting of the Council (Monmouth had something to say tonight....honestly I was surprised the meeting finished as early as it did!) and suddenly I'm in that room that's not really a room.

And immediately I run into a strangely dressed woman who is posing an interesting question about theft and I figure I might as well answer. Which is actually...unusual. Because really a prince, no a person shouldn't just answer questions posed by strangers. They could do anything with that information.

On the otherhand, I've never seen anyone from the Room in Camelot, they don't seem to visit or I visit them, so I suppose I'm safe enough. Still I'm quite sure Father would have a thing or two to say about it. But really, there's nothing else to do! Because it's not snowing, but now it's raining again! I can't spend all my time with Guinevere (unfortunately), mocking Merlin is only fun for so long, I can't mock Morgana's hair anymore, so...

Answering odd questions in an odd room it is! And hey, I might even find out something interesting.

There's Benefits to Boring Paperwork... - 10th January 1006

There is indeed! Father gave me reports on lambing to do. Lambing, I don't know what he was thinking. It was ridiculous boring...so boring I feel alseep!

Luckily for me, who should wake me up, but Guinevere.

I haven't seen her since we hid from her secret admirer in a cave (nothing improper happened!) and waking up to Guinevere...well I could get used to that.

She even sat with me while I finished off the report, well most of it...a servants work is never done, which I never actually realised before. I mean, of course Merlin always has things to do, but he's not exactly the best servant in the land.

Speaking of which...I need him to polish my boots they're looking horrible again...

I Can't Even... - 8th January 1006

Ever since this mutliverse thing started happening weird crap has been happening to me on a daily basis...

But this tops the lot.

This is the most disturbing thing that's ever happened to me. I've never even had a nightmare as horrible as that!

Hell, why do I keep finding Morganas in terrible situations? What am I supposed to do about it? I want to take this one back to my Camelot, but I could hardly do that. The whole thing is a complete mess.

I suppose all I can do is pray that the Arthurs in these other universes do the right thing.

Can I have that much faith myself? I don't know...

It's a Funny Old Multiverse... - 4th January 1006

It is! I've found yet another person who looks like me, but isn't me, not even a from the future me!

And he can cook? I don't know what to make of this! Maybe I should ask him for lessons? If only because maybe I'd learn better from myself?

Speaking of look-a-likes, I met that interesting lady, Igraine, who was pondering a very serious question, and despite realising she was not Morgana - she doesn't have the accent - I had to say something witty.

But then it got rather serious...she brings up some interesting points that I haven't thought of before, but do bare thinking about.

But...really at this time of night I perfer to think of Guinevere - not in THAT way (only sometimes), just in general. It guarantees good dreams and restful sleep!

And since I've decided to risk training tomorrow, that's something I need.

Snow, snow, go away... - 27th December 1005

First of all, when is this snow going to stop?! It's all ready two feet deep and now the flakes are coming down again. It's ridiculous! I don't understand how Guinevere gets home...

Also, this weather is driving me rather insane...yesterday, I actually sneaked a book from the library and got caught reading it.

That wasn't humilating or anything. My only comfort is the fact that Morgana didn't catch me, I'd never have lived it down. As it is Guinevere and Merlin caught me. And some...strange woman who claimed to be the personification of night.

Really...I don't even...I think I may be seeing things. Wouldn't surprise me...couped up in this castle for more than a week on end - except for the snowmen and the snowball fight...now the snow is to deep for even that.

God, I give up...I'm going to hide under my bedcovers and not come out until this is gone.
