The King awakes to a very different world from the one that he has always known.

Except...it doesn't feel like that to him. It seems that this is how it's always been.

How different one change can make...

Right now Arthur has just made his first speech to the people as King in his own right...and he hasn't a clue as to how he went. Anyone care to enlighten him?

"That was not a complete disaster."

Morgana's highly amused by Arthur's nerves and feels the need to tease him. As if turning 21 and giving a speech made him any more King than he's been his entire life.

"You would say that -" Arthur begins before realising what she just said...

Was that...a compliment?

What the Hell is Arthur supposed to make of that, he looks at her suspiciously. "Are all my clothes on properly?"

"I was not going to mention it until later, but your crown is on backward." That would be, of course, impossible, given that it's the same on all sides, but she's just playing with his nerves.

It will be entertaining to see what he does next.

"Other than that, you are completely dressed; your clothes are even clean. Did you replace Merlin?"

Morgana will be abundantly rewarded by the sight of Arthur's face going almost white in horror and him suddenly grabbing his crown before realising.

Then he'll just glaaaaare. "Oh, funny, very funny. It's all right for you, you just lie around all day, brushing your hair."

She will giggle devilishly.

"Yes, and in between brush strokes, I did not help your mother at all in organizing things, or should I go suggest to her you think women sit around all day making themselves beautiful?"

Morgana -- Arthur-button pusher extraordinaire.

"Don't even think about it!" Arthur would never hear the end of it if she did.

"Maybe you don't brush your hair all day, but you don't have to wear this stupid crown and make speeches."

"No, I only have to keep everyone in line, help your mother make sure no one is sitting near anyone who may decide to duel each other, all the while allowing everyone to believe you are in charge."

In short, she'd rather be giving the speeches and wearing the crown. It's likely less taxing.

"I am in charge." Those are fighting words, Morgana, Arthur put everything in to today's speech and well, behind the scenes work is always easy to forget about.

"Anyway you have my mother to help you, no-one can make my speech for me."

Well, they could, but it would be very bad form.

"Are you really, Arthur, or do your mother and I let you believe that?"

If Arthur ever repeats such a statement to the Dowager Queen, Morgana will simple claim she was teasing.

She's so crafty with her words, even now.

This is Arthur, looking at you very suspiciously indeed, Morgana.

Then he grins. "Are you plotting to overthrow me? Do I need to call the guards?"

And she's looking right back at you, innocent as a newborn babe.

"Only one day as King and you are already threatening me with the guards? Do I make you nervous, Arthur? Afraid I could beat you, even in this."

Yes, yes she did just go there.

She did and Arthur's eyes narrow.

Folding his arms he puts on an expression of absolute seriousness. "When do you ever beat me? Fairly, I mean?"
